Further to an earlier post which introduced the Wheel, (read about it under ‘How to Move Up The Boxes’ – ‘http://www.9thbox.in/how-to-move-up-the-boxes/), we continue to discuss more on our understanding of how an individual is assessed in detail for suitability for the future.
Firstly, there is a strong connection between the values of the organisation and that of the individual. Organisations keep changing and growing and people grow with the organisation. Therefore only those who have their Culture and Values in sync with that of the organisation will be prepared to make changes to their work ethics as the organisation changes. This is because both the DNAs (the individual’s and that of the organisation) are similarly wired.
Lets take an example of an organisation and how well the organisation and the individual match. In the Indian context, two companies come out rather strong from Corporate differentiation as compared to others and at the same time, both of them are apparently opposites from Corporate Management Styles. Lets look at both of them and how an individual can assess his candidature from level perspective.
Reliance is one of India’s largest conglomerates. Reliance motto “Growth is Life” aptly captures the ever-evolving spirit of Reliance. They have evolved from textiles and polyester company to an integrated player across energy, materials, retail, entertainment and digital services. In each of these areas, they claim to be committed to innovation-led, exponential growth. Their vision has pushed them to achieve global leadership in many of their businesses. Reliance’s products and services portfolio touches almost all Indians on a daily basis, across economic and social spectrums.
